is the new album by the trans-traditional ensemble Śabdagatitāra led by Sandeep Bhagwati. Together with guest musicians such as the Montréal-based baroque cellist Elinor Frey and the singer and master of the Ottoman violin Murat Gürel (Samsun, Turkey), the ensemble unfolds a musical space shaped by longing for elsewhere, homesickness, migration, and existential estrangement.

The album is currently in development, with recurring studio sessions planned through the end of 2026. Its release is anticipated for mid-2027

Since June 12, 2024 we have started a collaboration with the Klangwerkstatt of the Phonogramm Archives, Humboldtforum Berlin. Once a month on the 12th, members of Sabdagatitara meet in a laboratory format to make music together in a transtraditional way, and to discuss questions and perspectives of transtraditional practices. We have chosen the laboratory format because it is not about presenting completed processes, but about giving interested parties an insight into the process and gaining like-minded practitioners for an exchange. The events will take place at 18.00, interested parties will be welcomed at the Schlüterhof/Museum store entrance. Admission to the event is free, donations for Sabdagatitara e.V. are welcome.
